Individual Awards

At the end of each year, the Vitro Innovation Team will select a winner and several finalists of the Innovator of the Year Award, which identifies the best individual ideas of the year – whether they pertain to a specific challenge or not.

• Innovator of the Year (IOTY) Award winners will receive a $500 cash reward
• IOTY Award Finalists will receive a $250 cash reward

For each Innovation Challenge, the Vitro Innovation Team will identify the top individual submissions to receive a $100 cash reward. Typically, several ideas are chosen from each Innovation Challenge, so be sure to review ongoing challenge criteria and select the appropriate challenge when submitting your idea for consideration.

While each successful (or even unsuccessful) innovation brings its own rewards, the Vitro Innovation Team wants to reward innovators whose ideas go on to influence our products and processes. You can earn a $100 bonus for all ideas that are selected for Phase 1 review, with additional bonuses for product ideas that are further developed in Phase 3 or later launched or implemented by Vitro.

All dollar amounts are pre-tax. Payouts are made in Q1 of the following year and all winners must still be employed with Vitro. Submissions that pertain to the individual submitter’s day-to-day work are eligible for Innovation Challenge cash rewards, but may not be eligible for Phase 1 and Phase 3 bonuses.

Vitrovation Award

The Vitrovation Award for Forward Progress is given quarterly to collaborative plant teams at any of Vitro’s manufacturing locations and the Glass Technology Center. Winning teams receive a trophy in recognition of their achievement in improving efficiency at their location.
